Job Description:
The Company
My client is a major power company at the forefront of the energy transition, backed by a global energy and commodities leader. With operations across the UK and Europe, the business delivers reliable, flexible, and increasingly decarbonised power through a portfolio spanning thermal generation, battery storage, and carbon capture projects.
The Opportunity
This is an exceptional opportunity for a commercially minded Tax Manager to lead on all aspects of UK and international tax compliance and reporting, while playing a key role in shaping the group’s long-term tax strategy. You’ll work closely with the CFO, finance leadership, and external advisors on M&A activity, group restructuring, and process improvement initiatives.
This is a hands-on, high-profile role offering genuine breadth, perfect for someone who enjoys both the technical side of tax and influencing at senior level within a dynamic, growing business.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee UK and international tax compliance, reporting, and filings.
• Partner with external tax advisors and internal finance teams to deliver tax initiatives and ensure best practice.
• Support M&A, internal restructuring, and cross-border projects from a tax perspective.
• Manage relationships with HMRC and external advisors, including handling audits and enquiries.
• Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Provide proactive tax advice and training to the wider finance and leadership teams.
About You
• Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in tax, ideally gained within industry or a mix of practice and in-house.
• Strong knowledge of UK corporate tax, and international tax.
