Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and reliable Reactive Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to electrical faults, breakdowns, and urgent maintenance issues across a range of facilities. This role requires a proactive, safety-conscious individual who can diagnose and resolve problems efficiently to minimise downtime and disruption.


Key Responsibilities*Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and emergency call-outs

*Diagnose electrical faults and carry out effective repairs

*Perform maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems

*Ensure all work is completed in compliance with current electrical regulations and health & safety standards

*Liaise with clients, site managers, and internal teams to provide updates and solutions

*Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including reports and documentation

*Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance to reduce future reactive issues

*Participate in on-call rota as required



Requirements*Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer or similar role

*Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

*18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification

*Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

*Ability to work independently and under pressure

*Good communication and interpersonal skills

*Full UK driving licence (if role involves travel)



Desirable Skills*Experience working in commercial or industrial environments

*Knowledge of building management systems (BMS)

*Testing and inspection certification (2391 or equivalent)

*Multi-skilled experience (basic mechanical knowledge)
