Job Description:
A growing environmental and engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior FloodRisk / Hydraulic Modelling Consultant to strengthen its Sheffield-based team.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career, working on a broad range of projects across flood risk, hydraulic modelling and environmental planning, while also supporting the development of junior staff.
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical work and supporting project delivery across multiple schemes, including:
*Producing Flood Risk Assessments, hydraulic modelling reports and Environmental Statement chapters
*Undertaking hydrological analysis using FEH, ReFH2 and WINFAP
*Building and running hydraulic models using software such as HECRAS, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller and ESTRY
*Supporting model calibration, validation and problem-solving
*Carrying out site visits and surveys
*Liaising with clients, regulators and key stakeholders
*Managing your own workload across multiple projects
*Supporting and mentoring junior team members
ABOUT YOU
*Degree qualified in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Geography, Civil Engineering or similar
*Around 3-5 years’ experience in flood risk / hydraulic modelling
*Strong experience with relevant modelling and hydrology software
*Working towards chartership (e.g. CIWEM or ICE)
*Strong communication and organisational skills
*Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
