Speech and Language Therapist
Location: West London
Full-Time | Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and proactive Speech and Language Therapist to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties.
This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by empowering pupils to develop communication, independence, and access to learning in school.
The RoleYou will manage a varied caseload of pupils with complex communication needs, delivering high-quality assessment and intervention while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include:
*Delivering communication and functional language assessments and interventions
*Managing a diverse caseload of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties
*Producing detailed clinical reports for EHCPs and Annual Reviews
*Embedding therapeutic strategies into the curriculum alongside teachers and support staff
*Providing training and workshops for school staff on specialist communication approaches
About YouThe ideal candidate will be:
*Experienced in working within a school or similar setting
*Passionate about supporting children with autism and complex needs
*Empathetic, adaptable, and creative in their approach
*A strong communicator who builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals
Essential Requirements*Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
*Registration with HCPC and membership of RCSLT
*Experience working with children or young people with autism and/or severe learning difficulties
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Experience contributing to EHCPs or multidisciplinary reviews
The SettingThis role is based within a specialist independent school in West London supporting pupils aged 5-11, with planned expansion to include secondary provision. The school offers:
*A nurturing, inclusive environment designed specifically for children with autism
*Exceptional staff-to-pupil ratios
*Purpose-built facilities supporting sensory and communication needs
*A strong focus on wellbeing for both pupils and staff
