The opportunity
This role blends mechanical design, customer engagement and product innovation.
You will:
*Work directly with architects, M&E consultants and project engineers on building services schemes.
*Review P&IDs, HVAC layouts and piping systems.
*Recommend and implement 5–10% design improvements to optimise performance and manufacturability.
*Take ownership of Design-to-Order projects (~70% of your time).
*Contribute to new product concepts, standards and future solutions (~30%).

*A strong Mechanical Design Engineering background.
*Experience in architectural, M&E/building services, HVAC, or piping design environments.
*Confidence interpreting and working from P&IDs and building services schematics.
*Understanding of HVAC, hot & cold water, drainage or waste systems.
*A consultative, customer-focused approach with the ability to challenge and refine designs.
