Job Description:
The group sits within a broader IP and innovation-focused environment and works with a wide range of clients across the innovation economy - including global technology and pharmaceutical companies, high-growth ventures and owner-managed businesses.
Client Details
The team is one of the fastest-growing practices in the UK patent litigation market and continues to expand following significant client wins. Current instructions are concentrated across pharmaceutical, electro-mechanical and software-related patent disputes.
Description
*Handling a broad range of patent disputes in the High Court, IPEC and UPC.
*Advising on related issues including SPCs, FRAND matters, and freedom-to-operate assessments.
*Supporting commercial disputes with an IP angle, including licensing, contractual issues, and related tort claims.
*Contributing to wider team activities including business development, client care, training, knowledge sharing and internal projects.
*Engaging with colleagues across innovation-focused departments and participating in broader firm initiatives.
Profile
*4-8 years’ PQE in contentious IP within private practice.
*Strong patent litigation experience, with solid procedural knowledge (including familiarity with major civil procedure resources).
*Genuine enthusiasm for patent litigation and long-term career development in the field.
*Science background beneficial but not essential.
*Excellent technical and commercial client-care skills.
*Strong written and interpersonal communication abilities.
*Confident managing a varied workload and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
*Resilient, calm under pressure, and able to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
*Proactive approach to business development and self-development.
*Completion of, or interest in completing, the Oxford IP Diploma (or comparable training).
