Job Description:
About the school:
An inclusive and forward-thinking primary school in Sevenoaks is seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs teacher to join its dedicated SEND provision. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Special Educational Needs teacher, or someone with a primary school teaching background to work within a specialist unit supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
The provision is part of a growing specialist offering developed in partnership with the local authority, initially supporting younger pupils and now expanding across additional year groups. It provides a highly personalised, nurturing environment where learning is tailored to meet individual needs.
About the role:
The curriculum is topic-based and combines practical, engaging learning experiences with a strong emphasis on developing social communication, attention, and interaction skills. There is also a clear focus on sensory development, behaviour support, and play-based learning. Each pupil benefits from an individualised package of support to ensure they can access learning in a meaningful and effective way.
The school itself is a welcoming and community-focused environment with a strong ethos centred on inclusion, respect, and high expectations for all. Staff are committed to ensuring every child is supported to achieve their full potential in a caring and positive setting.
This role would suit someone who:
*Has a strong interest or background in SEND, particularly autism
*Is committed to inclusive education and personalised learning approaches
*Can create a structured, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
*Works well as part of a collaborative and supportive team
What is offered:
*A friendly and dedicated staff team with a strong sense of collaboration
*High-quality professional development and clear career progression pathways
*Access to specialist support and expertise in SEND, behaviour, and pupil wellbeing
*A strong focus on staff wellbeing, including access to an Employee Assistance Programme
*Additional staff benefits, including childcare support and social events
Safeguarding is a key priority, and all appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references. Pre-employment checks, including online searches, will be carried out in line with current safeguarding guidance.
Early applications are encouraged, as interviews may be held prior to the closing date.
