Quality Control Lead
Location – Cambridgeshire
Sector – Chemical Manufacturing
Salary– £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on interview performance & experience)
Full time, permanent role
We are currently offering the opportunity for a Quality Control Lead to join a company based in Cambridgeshire which produce specialised chemicals.
This role is well suited to someone with experience leading or managing QC laboratory operations within a chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, with strong technical expertise in analytical chemistry.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK. Unfortunately, sponsorship cannot be offered for this position either now or in the future.
Due to the remote location of the role, only applicants with a valid driving licence and car access will be considered.
The Role
As a Quality Control Lead, you will be responsible for:
*Managing the daily activities of the QC laboratory,
*Performing QC analysis using techniques including HPLC, GC, and Karl Fischer,
*Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting – particularly with HPLC and GC,
*Managing quality documentation (e.g. CAPAs, NCRs, audits).
Current / Recent Experience Required:
*4+ years of prior experience working within a high-throughput, routine analytical or QC laboratory (essential).
*HPLC, GC, Karl Fischer expertise – including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and training (essential).
*Prior experience working within a chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (essential).
*Expertise in ISO 9001 or GMP quality systems (essential).
*Prior experience training and mentoring junior scientists (essential).
*A chemistry-related degree, ideally with a background in organic chemistry (desirable).
Profile Required:
*Existing UK work eligibility (essential).
*Happy to commute / relocate to Cambridgeshire (essential).
*A valid driving licence & access to a car due to the remote location of the role (essential).
