Job Description:
Development Engineer – Advanced Machining & PrototypingAre you passionate about precision machining and innovative manufacturing methods? We’re seeking a skilled Development Engineer to prototype, evaluate, and help industrialise cutting-edge machining programs in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities*Lead the development and rollout of new programs and advanced machining methods.
*Manage projects and train operators on new and existing processes.
*Liaise with contractors and machine installers to ensure sites are equipped with the correct tooling and lifting equipment.
*Support engineering teams in installing new machine tools and industrialising new products, including long-bed high-speed machining projects.
*Troubleshoot post-transfer issues in production and develop new tooling and measurement techniques.
*Conduct machining tests during R&D programs, track performance, and report findings to engineering leadership.
*Collaborate with machine tool manufacturers and tooling suppliers to explore equipment and technology innovations.
Skills & Experience*Significant 5-axis machining experience (5+ years preferred).
*Strong problem-solving and technical evaluation skills.
*Collaborative and team-focused mindset.
*CAD/CAM experience preferred.
*Fanuc / Mazatrol programming skills beneficial.
*Knowledge of Fanuc robots advantageous (training provided).
*Experience in a prototyping or fast-turnaround environment.
*Self-starter with a creative, "can-do" attitude.
*Excellent communication skills.
