Working in partnership with an Expert by Experience Co-Trainer, the Facilitator Trainer leads sessions, guides discussion, and ensures the content is delivered to the required national standard. The role focuses on creating a safe, engaging learning environment that improves understanding, challenges attitudes, and promotes high-quality, person-centred support for people with learning disabilities and autistic people.

Brief outline of the role:

The Oliver McGowan Facilitator Trainer delivers the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism in partnership with an Expert by Experience Co-Trainer, ensuring sessions are engaging, interactive, and meet national quality standards. They facilitate discussions and learning activities in a safe, inclusive environment, manage session logistics, and promote values of dignity, respect, and person-centred practice throughout the training.

• Be comfortable talking in groups (once confidence is built)
• Communication • Ability to work with the facilitator to deliver training
• To be positive about the training
• To be resilient and professional
• Experience of working in social care (desirable)
• Experience delivering training in health, social care or education (desirable)
• Excellent communication and organisation skills
