Accounts Assistant – £30k–£35k | 12-Month FTC (Maternity Cover) | Office-Based | Leicester
Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for an exciting 12-month opportunity to broaden your finance experience?
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented finance professional to join a small, supportive finance team during a maternity cover period. This fully office-based role offers exposure to transactional finance, payroll, month-end processes, reporting, and more.
What you’ll get:
*Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (DOE)
*Monday to Thursday 9:00–17:00, Friday 8:30–16:30
*24 days holiday plus bank holidays and 2 discretionary days

The role includes:
*Processing and reconciling accounts, posting journals, accruals, and prepayments
*Managing supplier payments, fee collections, petty cash, and client account transactions
*Payroll for in-house staff and client pensions
*Supporting month-end reporting, management accounts, audits, and finance projects
*What we’re looking for:
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance role
*AAT Level 3 or equivalent
*Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
*Confident working independently and collaboratively in a small team
