Job Title: CNC Miller
Reports To: Production Manager
Location: West Byfleet, Surrey
Industry: Precision Engineering & Manufacturing (Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Medical, Oil & Gas)
Role Overview
We are currently seeking a CNC Miller to join a dynamic team within a fast-growing precision engineering company. The candidate should possess prior experience in programming, setting and operating milling machines in a production environment. While SolidCAM experience would be beneficial, it is not a mandatory requirement. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning programming and willing to contribute to the team’s growth.
Role Responsibilities
Programming, setting and running a DMG Mori CMX 1100V (2019)
Adjusting existing CNC programs to ensure accuracy and optimise efficiency
Programming of new jobs on and offline
Maintaining a level of self-inspection throughout a batch
Machining parts to tight tolerances with precision and accuracy
Working effectively as part of a team to achieve production goals and maintain a smooth workflow
Assisting the production staff in any other tasks that may be required to maintain production efficiency
Note: It is also essential that the applicant is happy to work on different machines depending on where they are required.
What We Are Looking For
Hands-on experience operating CNC milling machines, or someone with lesser experience who is eager to learn
Understanding of machining principles, CNC machining techniques, and tool selection
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve machining issues
Keen attention to detail and accuracy to produce high-quality components meeting tight tolerances
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals
Must be able to lift and move heavy objects, including raw materials and machined components
Enthusiasm and willingness to learn, take initiative and grow
Open to new challenges and willing to take on additional responsibilities
What We Offer
Competitive rate of pay, depending on experience
Opportunities for overtime; standard work week is 39 hours, overtime rate at 1.5x
Flexible start times: 08:00-17:00 Mon-Thu & 08:00-13:00 Fri, or 07:30-16:30 Mon-Thu & 07:30-12:30 Fri
Starting 22 days holiday, with an additional day each year up to a maximum of 25 days, plus Bank Holidays
Company Sick Pay Scheme
Attendance bonus: 10 hours at basic rate for no unauthorised absence in every 3-month period
