Exam Invigilators – Secondary Schools (South-East London)
Location: South-East London (Greenwich, Lewisham, Bexley, Southwark, Bromley)
Contract: Temporary, Part-Time, Flexible
Start Date:After the Easter Holidays – April 2026
Pay: £12–£15 per hour (depending on experience and school)
About the Role
We are recruiting reliable, professional, and vigilant Exam Invigilators to support secondary schools across South-East London during the busy exam season starting after Easter. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for flexible, part-time work in an education setting.
Exam Invigilators play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring students have a calm and supportive atmosphere during their assessments.
This role is ideal for:
*Retirees or semi-retired individuals
*University students
*Teaching assistants seeking extra hours
*Anyone looking for flexible, seasonal work
*People interested in gaining experience in schools
Key Responsibilities
*Set up exam rooms according to JCQ and school regulations
*Ensure exam conditions are maintained throughout the session
*Distribute and collect exam papers and materials
*Supervise students during exams, ensuring fairness and compliance
*Assist with late arrivals, queries, and contingencies
*Report any irregularities or issues to the Exams Officer
*Support with reading/scribing for students with access arrangements (if trained)
About You
We are looking for individuals who are:
*Professional, punctual, and reliable
*Calm and confident when working with secondary students
*Able to follow procedures accurately
*Observant and attentive to detail
*Flexible and available for morning and/or afternoon exam slots
*Happy to complete training and safeguarding checks
Previous invigilation experience is helpful but not essential – full training is provided.
