Job Title: SEN Teacher (Outstanding SEN School)
Location: Blackley, Greater Manchester
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a dedicated and innovative SEN Teacher to join our outstanding SEN school in Bury. You will be joining a supportive team that is committed to providing the highest quality education and care to students with diverse needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD).
Key Responsibilities:*Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with a variety of special needs, promoting inclusion and progress.
*Teach across a broad curriculum including core subjects and vocational pathways.
*Foster a positive learning environment and establish strong relationships with students, promoting independence, self-esteem, and confidence.
*Monitor, assess, and report on the progress of pupils, setting achievable goals in line with individual education plans (IEPs).
*Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, and other professionals to provide a holistic and integrated approach to student learning and well-being.
*Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Essential Requirements:*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN, particularly those with Autism, SEMH, or MLD.
*Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
*A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to working with children who have complex needs.
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to collaboration.
Desirable:*Experience working in a specialist SEN school.
*Additional qualifications in special educational needs (e.g., SENCO award, Autism-specific training).
*Understanding of sensory integration and therapeutic approaches to teaching.
