They are now seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead a busy payroll function and drive ongoing improvement.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and detail-driven Payroll Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring every colleague is paid accurately and on time. Working closely with leaders across the business, you will provide expert guidance, maintain strong controls, and support compliance with all statutory requirements. You will also play a key role in developing the payroll team, enhancing processes, and contributing to wider operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage and deliver accurate, timely end-to-end payrolls across multiple pay cycles.
*Ensure all salary changes, adjustments, and contractual variations are processed correctly.
*Complete payroll journals, reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
*Manage statutory payments, payroll deductions, and compliance documentation.
*Produce required reports, including statutory forms and monthly submissions.
*Maintain full compliance with payroll legislation, internal controls, and audit requirements.
*Act as the main point of contact for payroll queries, providing clear and knowledgeable support.
*Guide managers on payroll policies, processes, and best practices.
*Lead and support continuous improvement projects and upcoming legislative changes.
*Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to maintain a high standard of service.
Desirable Skills & Experience
*Proven experience in a similar payroll management role.
*Strong leadership abilities and experience overseeing a payroll team.
*Excellent technical knowledge of payroll processes, legislation and compliance.
*Skilled in Excel and confident working with payroll systems.
*High level of accuracy, integrity and discretion when handling sensitive data.
*Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and manage competing priorities.
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
