Controls Senior Specialist
Location: Manchester
Contract: Permanent
Work Setup: Hybrid - 3 days in the office / 2 days from home

Our client is a global investment and financial services firm dedicated to helping clients achieve their long-term goals. With a focus on innovative strategies, data-driven insights, and a client-first approach, we provide a range of investment solutions and services designed to support financial growth, security, and sustainable outcomes.
What you’ll do
*Partner with business teams to identify risks, design controls and support their implementation across end-to-end processes
*Independently scope, deliver and report on control design and effectiveness reviews
*Identify gaps, lead issue analysis and define root causes with clear remediation actions
*Provide constructive challenge to stakeholders to strengthen the control environment and support decision-making
*Present insights, themes and outcomes within governance forums
*Review deliverables, support junior colleagues through coaching, and contribute to continuous improvement of the controls framework
What you bring
*Proven experience designing, implementing, and testing operational controls across end-to-end business processes
*Strong background in Internal Audit, Operational Risk, or Controls within a regulated environment
*Skilled in identifying risks, analysing issues, and delivering practical remediation solutions
*Confident in stakeholder management, influencing decisions, and presenting findings in governance forums
*Experience contributing to continuous improvement of controls frameworks and risk processes
*Excellent attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
