About the Role:
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work on a supply basis in secondary schools across Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work within education, whether you are an aspiring teacher, recent graduate, or experienced professional with strong behaviour management skills.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
Key Responsibilities:
*Supervise whole classes during teacher absences

*Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions

*Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment

*Manage behaviour in line with school policies

*Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

Requirements:
*Experience working with young people (e.g., schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work)

*Strong communication and classroom management skills

*Ability to adapt quickly to new school environments

*A professional, flexible, and proactive approach

*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable:
*Degree-level education

*Previous experience in a secondary school setting
