Finance Operations Specialist (Payments & Chargebacks) - 3 Month Contract

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being at the centre of how payments and processes come together. This role is a 3-month contract with a well-established and highly regarded retail business, offering the chance to gain valuable experience within a recognised brand. What you will be doing:
*Taking ownership of payment-related queries and ensuring they are resolved quickly and efficiently
*Coordinating with internal teams and external partners to investigate and resolve payment issues
*Managing chargebacks and disputes, gathering the right information to support successful outcomes
*Monitoring payment activity and identifying any trends, issues, or areas for improvement
*Building strong working relationships with third-party providers to keep processes running smoothly
*Reviewing and improving existing processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors
*Supporting controls around payments to ensure accuracy and compliance at all times
*Producing clear and useful reports on payment activity and performance
*Assisting with payment-related tasks such as refunds and queries as part of the wider team

What we need from you:*Experience working with payments or within a transactional finance environment
*Confident using Excel and comfortable working across different systems
*A highly organised and detail-focused approach, taking pride in accuracy
*A friendly and approachable communicator who enjoys working with others
*Someone who enjoys problem-solving and being the go-to person when things need to be figured out
*Ideally immediately available or on a short notice period, and comfortable in a hybrid/on-site environment
