SEND Teacher - Independent Specialist School (7-17)
Salary: £27,000 - £43,000 | Part Time (16 hours/week)
From April 1st 2026: £28,288 - £44,304
Location: Barnsley | Ofsted Rating: Good

About the Role:
Our client is looking for a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join their friendly, supportive team. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to children with complex needs, delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching in a nurturing environment. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting students’ learning and personal development, ensuring they thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons and support across the curriculum for students with a range of special educational needs.
*Teach using a spiral programme, revisiting concepts to deepen understanding and develop skills.
*Work closely with internal and external professionals such as psychologists and therapists to support student progress.
*Build strong, positive relationships with students, recognising their individual needs and celebrating their achievements.
*As a SEND Teacher, you will provide tailored support that empowers students and fosters a positive learning environment.
Requirements:
*A genuine passion for working with children with SEND
*At least two years’ experience in a SEND environment or similar provision
*QTS/QTLS qualification is essential
