Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maths and English Lecturer to join a well-established college in East London on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to support and inspire learners in achieving their functional skills and GCSE qualifications in Maths and English.
Key Responsibilities*Deliver high-quality teaching in Maths and English across a range of levels, including Functional Skills and GCSE

*Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements

*Support learners in developing core numeracy and literacy skills for academic and career progression

*Assess, mark, and provide constructive and timely feedback on student work

*Monitor and track learner progress, implementing interventions where necessary

*Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement, and progression

*Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives

*Support learners in progressing to further education, apprenticeships, or employment

Requirements*Relevant degree in Mathematics, English, or a related subject

*Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)

*Experience teaching Maths and/or English in a Further Education or similar setting

*Strong understanding of GCSE and Functional Skills curriculum

*Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills

*Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds

*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
