Legal Accounts Assistant
Location: London (Office-based, 5 days per week)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Hours: 9:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent
A well-established London law firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join its collaborative and long-standing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2+ years’ experience in a legal or professional services environment who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and high-performing accounts department.
Key Responsibilities
*Preparing, revising, and issuing invoices and credit notes, ensuring VAT accuracy and compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
*Managing client billing portals, including uploads, rate maintenance, and resolving queries
*Uploading multi-jurisdictional agent fee notes, ensuring correct VAT and currency treatment
*Performing ad hoc client ledger reconciliations and raising pro formas
*Processing client receipts and payments
*Working with accounts receivable/credit control to follow up on aged invoices and resolve client queries
*Acting as a point of contact for fee earners, PAs, and clients regarding billing and invoice matters
*Providing general support to the accounts team, including holiday cover and ad hoc finance duties
What We’re Looking For
*Minimum 2 years’ experience in a legal finance or professional services environment
*Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP and pivot tables desirable)
*A methodical, accurate approach with excellent attention to detail
*Confident communication skills and the ability to liaise with senior stakeholders
*Professional, resilient, and customer-focused attitude
