Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Administrator with attendance/pastoral experience, to join a secondary school in the B8, area. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring student attendance, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the school’s efforts to promote punctuality and regular attendance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in teaching or related fields who are passionate about student welfare and organisational excellence. Hours will be 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. This will start ASAP till the end of the academic year.
Duties
*Monitor daily student attendance and punctuality, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date
*Liaise with teachers, parents, and guardians regarding attendance concerns or absences
*Maintain detailed attendance logs and generate regular reports for senior management
*Follow up on unexplained absences by contacting parents or guardians promptly
*Support the organisation of attendance-related initiatives and campaigns to promote punctuality
*Assist in identifying patterns of absenteeism and develop strategies to improve attendance rates
*Ensure compliance with school policies and relevant legislation regarding student attendance
*Provide administrative support related to attendance, including data entry and record keeping
Experience
*Prior experience in an educational setting or similar role is desirable
*Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise professionally with students, parents, and staff
*Proficiency in using administrative software and data management systems
*A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail is essential for success in this role
