About Our Client
Our client is a leading provider of specialist drilling solutions, delivering high-quality services to a range of industries across the UK. They pride themselves on their technical expertise and innovative approach, supporting clients with reliable and efficient drilling operations. They are now looking to grow their team with a skilled Engineer/Fitter based at their busy Rushton Spencer facility.
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a hands-on Engineer/Fitter to maintain, service, and repair drilling rigs and associated plant equipment. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults, attending site breakdowns, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Travel to customer sites is required, with travel time paid at the overtime rate.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on drilling rigs and plant machinery
*Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues
*Attend on-site breakdowns and restore equipment efficiently
*Prepare and maintain equipment in the workshop
*Follow all health & safety procedures and guidelines
*Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
Requirements
*Proven experience in a plant engineer, fitter, or similar role
*Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge (basic electrical experience advantageous)
*Ability to work independently and problem-solve under pressure
*Willingness to travel and work on-site when required
*Full UK driving licence
*Flexible, proactive, and safety-conscious approach
Desirable
*Experience with drilling rigs or heavy plant machinery
*Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
