SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Small Heath, B10
Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Monday - Friday, long-term temp to perm.
Long Term Futures are recruiting for a patient, resilient and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a dedicated SEN Hub in a primary school in Small Heath, Birmingham. The role involves supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH and Speech, Language and Communication Needs in a structured and nurturing environment.
This position is a long-term role and for the right candidate there is an opportunity to be made permanent. The school is looking for an experienced and positive individual who can become a key part of their SEN team.
Key Responsibilities:
*Support pupils’ academic progress as well as their emotional wellbeing and personal development
*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism, SEMH and SALCN
*Support communication and interaction using appropriate strategies and resources
*Encourage learning across a range of subjects, tailored to individual need
*Work closely with the SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support
Ideal Candidate Profile:
*A Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning Qualification, or relevant subject
*Experience working with Primary Students
*A background working with SEN Pupils, specifically Autism, SEMH and SALCN
*An understanding of how to support students’ learning and development
*A strong understanding of behaviour management
