Job Description:
Totum Partners is working with a Global Law firm to recruit a newly-created Assistant Accountant for their London office. Offering hybrid working, the firm is seeking candidates with Legal/Accounting sector experience to support in the preparation of statutory accounts, assist with balance sheet reconciliations and collaborate with overseas offices.
Assistant Accountant with International Law Firm
Based in Central London (hybrid working available)
Assistant Accountant Responsibilities:
*Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and external audits
*Support the month-end process and journal entries
*Provide assistance with reconciliations (revenue, balance sheet, expenses) and investigate and amend irregularities
*Support the preparation of tax documentation and VAT returns, collaborating with European offices, maintaining compliance with local tax regulations
*Ad-hoc project, accounting and reporting tasks and covering for team members when required
*Utilise initiative to streamline processes and implement improvements, incorporating AI tools where possible to enhance efficiency
Assistant Accountant Experience:
*APPLICANTS MUST BE CURRENTLY WORKING IN A LAW FIRM OR LLP/ACCOUNTANCY FIRM ENVIRONMENT
*Part-qualified or willing to begin accountancy qualification studies
*Strong Excel, accuracy and organisational skills
*Ability to communicate with both financial and non-financial colleagues
