Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapy Lead (Team Manager) to join our team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key leadership role, overseeing Community Occupational Therapy teams and driving service excellence during a period of transformation.
*Herefordshire Council – Plough Lane, Hereford (HR4 0LE)
* £33.16 per hour
* 4-month contract (high likelihood of extension)
* Start: ASAP
The Role:As Team Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight across locality-based Occupational Therapy teams, supporting adults to maximise their independence, safety, and wellbeing within the community.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring:
*High-quality, evidence-based Occupational Therapy practice
*Effective triage and workflow management
*Strong supervision and team development in line with best practice recommendations
*Delivery aligned to ongoing service redesign and improvement priorities
Key Responsibilities:*Lead and manage Community OT teams across Herefordshire
*Provide professional guidance and support to staff
*Ensure timely and effective case management and service delivery
*Drive performance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
*Work collaboratively with partners, particularly Wye Valley Trust therapy services, to support integrated pathways
*Facilitate smooth transitions between hospital, reablement, and community settings
About You:*Be a qualified Occupational Therapist
*Hold current HCPC registration
*Have previous management or senior leadership experience within adult social care or community OT services
*Demonstrate strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
*Have experience working within multi-disciplinary and integrated health and social care environments.
