Job Description:
Plantool Limited are seeking a motivated and well-rounded Finance Manager to join our small, friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounts professional who enjoys taking ownership and playing a key role in the day-to-day and strategic financial management of a business.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s finance function, supported by a team of two within the accounts department. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident managing a wide range of accounting responsibilities and is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day finance operations
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
- Support and develop two members of the accounts team
- Liaise with external accountants and other stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies within the finance function
About You:
- Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role
- Strong all-round accounting knowledge
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable managing and supporting a small team
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with senior leadership
Desirable Experience:
- Experience with Sage Line 50 is advantageous but not essential
- Some previous exposure to basic payroll principals beneficial but not essential

Salary and Benefits:
- A basic salary of £45,000-£55,000 depending on experience
- 24 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays, with increases after long service
