Geography Teacher – Secondary School
Are you a passionate, knowledgeable and inspiring Geography specialist looking to make a real impact in a vibrant secondary school? We are seeking a dedicated Geography Teacher to join our team and spark curiosity about the world, its people and its environments.
About the Role
You will deliver engaging and thought-provoking Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop a strong understanding of physical and human geography, global issues and the world around them. You will also contribute to the wider curriculum through fieldwork, enrichment activities and cross-curricular projects that bring learning to life.
Skills & Qualities Needed
*Strong subject knowledge in both physical and human geography, including key concepts, processes and case studies.
*Ability to design engaging, enquiry-based lessons that encourage critical thinking and real-world application.
*Confident use of geographical skills, including map reading, data interpretation and fieldwork techniques.
*Excellent classroom management with the ability to motivate and support learners of all abilities.
*Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
*Ability to assess and track progress effectively, providing constructive feedback that supports student development.
*Adaptability, resilience and a proactive approach to supporting student wellbeing.
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Desirable:
*Experience teaching GCSE Geography or equivalent qualifications.
*Experience planning or leading fieldwork or outdoor learning activities.
*Confidence using GIS software or digital mapping tools.
*Willingness to contribute to whole-school initiatives and cross-curricular projects.
