We are urgently recruiting experienced tutors to support looked-after children and asylum-seeking young people in Brighton & Hove. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable learners who need tailored, compassionate educational support.
Role Overview
We are seeking dedicated tutors to deliver high-quality, 1:1 tuition across a range of subjects and levels:
*ESOL (up to Level 2)

Student Profile
You will be supporting children and young people who:
*Are looked-after or asylum seekers

*Are working below age-related expectations

*May have Special Educational Needs (SEN) including:
*ADHD

*Dyslexia

*Dyscalculia

*ODD

*SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)


*Often experience high anxiety and may be emotionally based school avoiders

Requirements
*Minimum 2 years UK teaching or tutoring experience

*QTS and PGCE essential
(Exception: ESOL tutors must hold a Level 5 ESOL qualification)

*Strong understanding of SEN and trauma-informed approaches

*Ability to build trust and engage vulnerable learners

*Location: Brighton & Hove

*Pay: £30 - £32.50 per hour

*Hours:
*Morning sessions (URGENT)

*Afternoon sessions (URGENT)

*After school


*Commitment: 1-5 hours per student per week

*Positions: Multiple tutors required
