Job Description:
Calibration Technician
*Job Type: Full-time
*Location: Milton Keynes
*Salary: £26,000
We are seeking a Calibration Technician responsible for calibrating customer instrumentation using approved processes, templates, and laboratory equipment. This role is ideal for someone with a technical background and strong customer service skills, who is keen on delivering high-quality technical services.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Assess equipment conditions on arrival and determine suitability for calibration.
*Understand, agree, and accurately record customer calibration requirements mainly via email and occasionally by phone.
*Analyse calibration data to determine pass/fail outcomes with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
*Provide clear, supportive communication to customers throughout the calibration process.
*Undertake fault-finding, minor repairs, and problem-solving where required.
*Support other departmental tasks, such as assisting the service delivery team with the safe packing and dispatch of customer equipment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Essential:
*Recognised qualification in a technical or numerate discipline (BTEC Level 3 or equivalent).
*Experience in a technical environment with strong customer service delivery.
*Background in providing technical services in a customer-facing role.
*Strong analytical, mathematical, and technical skills.
*Excellent interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills.
*Competent computer skills, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
*Desirable:*Degree-level education or equivalent in a relevant subject.
*Previous experience in a calibration laboratory environment.
*Knowledge of or interest in acoustics and vibration.
Benefits:
*Working Hours: 9:00am–5:00pm.
*Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
*Pension: 5% employee contribution, 3% employer contribution.
