1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Cirencester
Start: ASAP
Hours: Full-time or part-time available
A supportiveprimary school in Cirencester is looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistantto provide focused 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. This is anexcellent opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who is passionateabout helping children access learning in a structured, nurturing environment.
Role Overview
*Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs
*Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support strategies
*Encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation
*Assist with classroom routines, transitions and small-group activities where needed
Candidate Profile
*Previous SEN experience is essential
*Calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting pupil needs
*Strong communication and rapport-building skills
*Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable
*Driving licence advantageous (due to school location)
SEN training highly valued, including:
*Understanding Autism
*ADHD Awareness
*Team Teach / De-escalation Training
*Trauma-Informed Practice
*BSL or other communication-focused training
*Makaton (highly desirable)
