Job Description:
Are you a creative, passionate and inspiring Drama specialist looking to make a real impact in a vibrant secondary school? We are seeking a dedicated Drama Teacher to join our team and ignite a love of performance, creativity and confidence in our students.
About the Role
You will deliver engaging and imaginative Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a supportive environment where students feel confident to express themselves, take risks and develop their performance skills. You will contribute to the wider creative life of the school, including school productions, enrichment clubs and performance events.
*Strong subject knowledge in Drama, theatre practitioners, performance techniques and script work.
*Creative lesson planning that brings learning to life and encourages student participation.
*Excellent classroom management with the ability to motivate and engage learners of all abilities.
*Confident directing skills to support school productions, showcases and extracurricular drama activities.
*Strong communication skills, both with students and colleagues, to build positive relationships.
*Ability to assess and track progress effectively, providing constructive feedback that supports student growth.
*Adaptability and resilience, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting student wellbeing.
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable Skills
*Experience teaching GCSE Drama or equivalent qualifications.
*Knowledge of technical theatre, including lighting, sound or stage management.
*Willingness to contribute to whole-school initiatives and cross-curricular projects.
