Job Description:
ICT Operations Site Technician
Role Overview
We are seeking an ICT Operations Site Technician to support the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of ICT systems across a large-scale, mixed-use estate. Working closely with service delivery leadership, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, you will ensure the smooth operation of critical infrastructure while coordinating technical changes, incident response, and ongoing enhancements.
This role plays a central part in maintaining operational excellence across a complex, technology-driven environment, ensuring systems remain resilient, secure, and aligned with business needs
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operation of the ICT environment, ensuring availability, performance, and security of networked systems.
* Act as the primary on-site contact for third-party ICT suppliers, overseeing support delivery, troubleshooting, and infrastructure changes.
* Review, approve, and oversee technical changes including VLAN configurations, switch management, and Wi-Fi deployments in line with CAB processes and estate standards.
* Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities, ensuring all changes align with operational stability and compliance requirements.
* Coordinate incident response and service requests with external partners, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
* Support ICT projects, upgrades, and mobilisation activities, balancing operational priorities with delivery timelines.
* Conduct supplier reviews, operational audits, and service performance meetings to ensure technical and contractual compliance.
* Maintain asset registers, configuration databases, and network documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with policies and procedures.
* Oversee converged systems including Wi-Fi, DAS, telephony, satellite TV, and analytics platforms, ensuring resilience and uptime.
* Engage with internal departments, tenants, and stakeholders to ensure ICT services meet operational and business requirements.
* Identify risks, capacity constraints, and optimisation opportunities, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
* Deputise for the ICT Service Delivery Manager when required, ensuring continuity of operations, supplier coordination, and escalation management.
* Provide guidance to stakeholders on ICT policies, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements
Strong working knowledge of converged network environments, including VLANs, switching, Wi-Fi systems, and structured cabling.
Familiarity with Cisco infrastructure and network monitoring tools.
Practical understanding of ITIL-based service management (incident, problem, and change management).
Experience coordinating third-party suppliers and managing technical changes in live environments.
Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A methodical, service-oriented approach with a focus on reliability, security, and continuous improvement.
Additional Information
This is a highly visible, operationally critical role within a complex estate environment where ICT infrastructure underpins all services. You will act as a key link between suppliers, projects, and internal teams, ensuring systems remain stable, secure, and future-ready while supporting ongoing innovation and improvement.
