CNC Turner - Programmer / Setter (Progression to CNC Supervisor)Salary: Up to £43,000 * Hours: Days * Location: Gloucestershire
A well-established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Programmer/Setter to join its expanding machine shop. This role is ideal for a confident, technically capable CNC professional.
The RoleYou will take ownership of programming and setting CNC turning centres, ensuring accurate, efficient machining processes and supporting continuous improvement across the department. With ongoing investment in modern machinery and workflow upgrades, this position offers a clear development pathway into a CNC Supervisor role.
Key Responsibilities* Programming and setting CNC turning machines using Fanuc and Siemeens controls.
* Leading by example on machining best practice, tooling selection, and process optimisation.
* Supporting workflow planning, job allocation, and prioritising daily workloads.
* Acting as a technical reference point for junior team members and machine operators.
* Ensuring safe, efficient machine shop standards and championing continuous improvement.
* Performing in-process quality checks and ensuring components meet drawing tolerances.
* Taking on increasing supervisory responsibility with the intention of transitioning into a formal CNC Supervisor position.
About You* Strong background in CNC turning with proven programming and setting capability.
* Confident with Fanuc and/or Sieemens control systems.
* Able to interpret detailed engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
* Proactive, organised and ready to step into a leadership capacity.
* Experience with small to medium precision components is preferred.
