Support Worker – Children’s Residential Care | Full Training Provided
Location: Cambridgeshire
Salary: Starting at £31,824.00
Full Time | Flexible Shifts | Sleep-ins Required

At FEVACA, we are looking for caring, motivated and resilient Support Workers to join our residential care team supporting young people aged 13–18.
Many of the young people we support have experienced trauma or instability. Your role will be to provide stability, encouragement and guidance, helping them rebuild trust, develop independence, and move forward with confidence.
No previous residential childcare experience? Full training is provided for the right candidate. This is more than a job — it’s a chance to positively change a young person’s life.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Support Worker, you will:
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people
• Support young people to develop life skills and independence
• Encourage engagement in education, activities and hobbies
• Support young people through important life transitions
• Maintain accurate records and reports
• Work collaboratively with social workers, schools, families and other professionals
• Create a safe, supportive and nurturing home environment
• Participate in training and development programmes
Your role will help young people feel safe, valued and supported to achieve their goals. Every interaction you have can help a young person build confidence, feel valued, and believe in their future.
Shift Pattern
Our shifts are flexible and based on the needs of the home, typically including:
• 9am – 10pm followed by a sleep-in
• 8:00am – 11:00pm followed by a sleep-in
Shifts operate on a rota across Monday – Sunday, including weekends and bank holidays.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship for this position)
Flexible availability including weekends
A genuine passion for supporting young people
Strong communication and record-keeping skills
Positive and solution-focused mindset
Reliable with good timekeeping
Confidence to work independently when required
Desirable
Experience working with young people or in social care
Knowledge of Ofsted regulations
Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
