Sales Specialist – Scientific Instrumentation
Territory: South West England
Salary: to ~£45,000 plus car/allowance and bonus
Portfolio: Lab and in-process Instrumentation
Are you a scientifically qualified sales professional looking to work with cutting-edge laboratory technology and a diverse range of industries?
An internationally recognised manufacturer of advanced laboratory instrumentation is looking to appoint a Sales Specialist to support customers and drive new business growth across the South West of England.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation with a strong reputation in the scientific community. The role offers a mix of account management, technical consultancy and new business development, working with customers across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food & beverage and academia.
You will be part of a supportive and collaborative international team, helping scientists and laboratories solve complex measurement challenges while developing long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage and develop relationships with existing customers across the territory
*Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and lead generation
*Take ownership of sales projects from initial enquiry through to negotiation and close
*Deliver engaging technical presentations, product demonstrations and customer training
*Work with customers to understand their applications and recommend appropriate solutions
*Represent the company at industry exhibitions, conferences and technical events
*Collaborate with internal teams to support marketing initiatives and customer engagement
About You
*Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Materials, Physics or Life Sciences
*Previous experience in analytical instrumentation or sales
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills, able to talk the language of science with laboratory managers, Academics and Technical Specialists
*Highly motivated; success driven with an ambition to grow
*Comfortable travelling (~3 days/week) with occasional needs for overnight stays
*Based in/near the South West of England
