Trade Operations Analyst (Power & Gas) at leading Commodities Trading Company
Location: London (office-based)
Industry: Global Trading / Multi-Asset
The Role
A high-impact role supporting trading activity across futures, options and OTC markets. Sitting close to the desk, you’ll analyse positions, investigate P&L drivers, manage lifecycle events, and ensure accurate trade capture and reconciliation across global exchanges.
Key Responsibilities
*Monitor and manage futures, options and OTC transactions across global markets
*Provide real-time desk support: resolve trade breaks, position discrepancies, unexpected P&L movements
*Analyse trading activity, spreads and lifecycle events (exercises, assignments, resets)
*Oversee confirmations, amendments and lifecycle management for brokered and OTC trades
*Use platforms such as CME Direct, WebICE, Trayport and TT
*Support margin calculations, complex strategies and settlements
*Identify process improvements within trading operations
What We’re Looking For
*Strong experience in trade operations across power/gas/commodities/FX futures & options
*Deep understanding of derivatives behaviour, spreads and P&L drivers
*Familiarity with major global exchanges and clearing operations
*Confident working directly with traders in a fast-paced environment
*Strong Excel ability and data-analysis mindset
*Proactive, detail-driven, collaborative
