Job Description:
Credit Control / Debt Recovery Officer
Location: Market Harborough (Hybrid - 3 days WFH, 2 days office)
Contract: Temporary (with potential to go permanent)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Competitive hourly rate equivalent to £29,000 FTE
Start: Flexible start and finish times available
About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive, organised, and personable Credit Control / Debt Recovery Officer to join a friendly and supportive finance team based in Market Harborough.
This role has become available to help tackle a backlog of aged debt, so you’ll play a key part in improving cashflow and strengthening customer account management.This is a temporary role with real potential to become permanent, offering a great opportunity to build your career within a collaborative finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing a portfolio of customer accounts to recover outstanding debt
*Making outbound calls and sending written communications to chase overdue payments
*Resolving queries promptly and professionally
*Working closely with the wider finance team to reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
*Monitoring payment plans and ensuring timely follow-up
*Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
About You
*Previous experience in credit control or debt recovery
*Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
*Able to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
*Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
