Job Description:
SENCO – September Start
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join a successful secondary school from September in Reading. We are looking for a passionate, organised, and forward-thinking SEND practitioner who is committed to ensuring every student can access an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
*Lead the strategic development of the school’s SEND provision
*Oversee the identification and assessment of students with additional needs
*Coordinate targeted interventions and whole-school inclusion strategies
*Support teachers to deliver high-quality, adaptive classroom practice
*Manage EHCP processes and maintain accurate SEND documentation
*Build strong relationships with families, staff, and external agencies
*Champion an environment where all learners can flourish
What We’re Looking For
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it)
*Strong understanding of SEND legislation and effective SEND practice
*Excellent communication and organisational skills
*A genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable learners
