Personal Advisor – Care Leavers Service
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people?
We are looking to recruit a Personal Advisor (PA) to join a dedicated Care Leavers Service supporting young people as they transition to independent living.
About the RoleAs a Personal Advisor, you will work directly with young people aged 16+ who are preparing to leave care. Your role is to provide guidance, emotional support, and practical assistance across all areas of their lives as they move toward independence.
You will support and advise young people around:
*Health & Emotional Wellbeing – including GP, dental, and optical access
*Identity – ethnicity, religion, self-care, and personal presentation
*Family & Social Relationships
*Finances – budgeting, benefits, and essential life skills
*Accommodation – helping them secure and sustain suitable housing
*UASC (Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children) support
*Advocacy – acting on behalf of young people to ensure their needs are met and rights upheld
You will also take part in reviewing and updating Pathway Plans and keeping in regular contact with care leavers to support their progress.
What We’re Looking ForApplicants must have:
*Experience working with young people or young adults
*Knowledge of legislation surrounding Children in Care and Care Leavers
*The ability to build positive, supportive relationships with young people who may be navigating complex or challenging circumstances
*Strong communication skills — written, verbal, and electronic
*The ability to advocate confidently on behalf of young people
