A world-class advanced electronics manufacturer who support several key sectors are urgently seeking an experienced Buyer with proven knowledge of electronics manufacturing to join their procurement team in Newport.
*Role: Buyer (Full Time)
*Pay: Competitive annual salary
*Location: Newport
*Working Pattern: Fully onsite
As a Buyer you will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely procurement of materials and services essential to manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage and develop relationships with assigned suppliers
*Negotiate pricing, terms and agreements to secure best-value supply
*Analyse, review and report on supplier price changes
*Identify and introduce alternative suppliers and materials where beneficial
*Ensure purchasing requisitions reflect accurate lead times
*Escalate and resolve supply issues that may impact production
*Minimise exposure to MOQs and price increases
*Ensure compliance with company codes of conduct, import/export and legal requirements
*Keep excess, cost and stock levels under tight control
This is a critical role within the purchasing team, supporting production, quality, planning and engineering to ensure a smooth, cost-effective and reliable supply chain.
Key Requirements:
*Knowledge of electronics manufacturing and components
*Proven purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
*High attention to detail and accuracy
*Able to work independently and take full ownership of tasks
*Proactive, analytical and commercially focused
*Strong IT skills
*CIPS qualified (desirable)
