Job Description:
Graduate Recruitment Consultant – Construction
Basic Salary: £25,000 | On Target Earnings: Up to £40,000
A career that starts on site, not behind a desk
This is not a typical graduate recruitment role.
It offers direct exposure to live construction projects, real client relationships, and a market that operates at pace. You will not be limited to the office. You will be on the phone, on site, and face to face with the people who keep projects moving.
For individuals who prefer activity over routine and want to build a career through experience, this is a strong starting point.
The business and the opportunity
The company is an established construction recruitment business with a strong presence across the UK and a well-developed London head office.
They support a wide range of construction projects, supplying both labour and professional staff into active sites. Their client base is long-standing, with repeat business across multiple developments.
A significant number of senior consultants began their careers here as trainees. They developed their understanding of the construction market from first principles, built long-term client relationships, and progressed into positions with real ownership and leadership responsibility.
This hire is part of a continued growth phase. The business is investing in new talent to support increasing demand across key accounts while developing the next generation of consultants.
The role
You will join as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant, working closely with experienced consultants on accounts that are already active and generating revenue.
The role is practical and varied, combining office-based work with regular time spent on construction sites and with clients.
You will be responsible for:
*Speaking daily with candidates and site workers
*Managing candidate pipelines for live site requirements
*Supporting delivery across active construction projects
*Working towards clear daily and weekly activity targets
*Attending candidate meetings and site inductions
*Visiting client sites and building relationships with site managers
*Learning client requirements and workforce planning
*Progressively taking ownership of roles and accounts
Time on site is a key part of the role. It allows you to understand how projects operate and builds credibility with both clients and candidates.
Who this is forThis opportunity is suited to individuals at the start of their career who are comfortable working in a target-driven environment.
Typical backgrounds include:
*Graduates with exposure to sales, commercial, or target-based environments
*Individuals from estate agency, telesales, or similar roles
*People used to working towards KPIs and performance metrics
*Confident communicators, both on the phone and face to face
*Individuals motivated to build a long-term career in recruitment
Practical mindset and work ethic are more important than academic background.
What is on offer*Basic salary of £25,000
*On target earnings up to £40,000 as you develop
*Structured training from experienced consultants
*Exposure to live accounts and active construction projects
*Clear progression into Recruitment Consultant and Senior Consultant roles
*A hands-on environment where you learn the market properly
Final noteThis is a serious entry point into construction recruitment within a business that values development, exposure, and long-term progression.
It will suit individuals who want responsibility early, enjoy working in fast-paced environments, and are motivated to build lasting relationships across a live market.
Strong applicants are encouraged to apply or enquire for further detail.
