Job Description:
Our client is a leading media law firm in the West End. They represent some of the best-known names and companies in the Fashion, Digital Media, Music, Film, Theatre, TV and Sport sectors.
Following a period of growth, they have created a new role in their accounts department for an Accounts Assistant. Applicants should have some experience of working in an accounts department have excellent excel knowledge, strong communication and attention to detail skills and have a keen interest in Accounts or Finance.
Responsibilities
*Manage and take ownership of employee expense claims, ensuring appropriate authorisation, receipts provided, correct coding for all expense claim items, and following up on employee queries
*Assist with completion of bank and credit card reconciliations as well as monthly balance sheet reconciliations
*Support the Finance team in month / quarter end reporting and posting journals
*Help with the purchase ledger, ensuring invoices are paid to terms, suppliers are accurately set up on the system, and outstanding balances are chased and cleared
*Handle queries from secretaries and fee earners
*Help set up and check client account and trademark payments as well as other transfers as and when required
*Open new clients / files and upload due diligence packs into the practice management system
*Process write offs, ensuring any large write offs are escalated to the Partnership Secretary
*Ad-hoc support to the Finance team and the wider business, for example assisting with the year-end audit
*Identify process improvements within accounts payable and expense claims, and work with key members of staff (e.g. support staff, PAs etc.)
Candidate Profile
*Strong analytical and Excel skills
*Methodical approach to work with a strong focus on accuracy
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Enthusiastic and professional, with an excellent customer service ethic
*Able to persuade, influence and challenge colleagues at all levels
*Able to be organised, prioritise and multi-task particularly when managing a large workload under pressure and to tight deadlines
