About the Role:
The Senior Analyst position will be part of the Global Financial Control (GFC) team that supports the Global Controller. The role will be responsible for the establishment of sound internal control processes, best practice reconciliations, and assistance with global internal control projects as required. The role will also be responsible for the escalation of material internal control breaks or issues throughout the EMEA region to both the regional CFO as well as the Global Controller. The role will report to the Manager, GFC in London.
The key responsibilities of the role include;
*Take responsibility for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance across a range of processes in the EMEA region. Work with control owners and other members of the GFC team to complete the full end-to-end SOX cycle, including conducting walkthroughs of SOX processes and the completion of all supporting documentation relevant to each assigned process
*Take responsibility for aspects of the SOX IT Automated Controls (ITAC’s) in the region
*Work with the project team and control owners to establish and fully document effective controls over the cash and banking requirement of the CRD VI regulation in EMEA
*Have a working knowledge of all material out of period errors in the region and control breaks for the purposes of SOX analysis. This involves working with the issue owner to design appropriate remediation plans and time frames for completion
*Ensure that any deficiencies raised by NT’s Internal Controls Testing (ICT) team during SOX testing of key controls are addressed appropriately (escalated, remediated, etc)
*Develop and maintain a strong working partnership with SOX control owners, internal GFC teams and the external SOX auditors
*Assist with the administration and maintenance of the Quarterly Account Ownership process for EMEA
*Where required, assist with the governance of reconciliations performed on the Trintech system, including reviewing and providing input to the monthly reporting process
*Assist with the completion of the quarterly EMEA Finance Managers presentation
*Provide technical input for current Finance processes and reconciliations to streamline and create efficiencies, where possible
*Build relationships with, and provide technical training and support to, the regional EMEA finance managers/offices
*Provide support and function as cover for other members of the GFC team as required
*Work independently and be self-motivated to achieve the goals of the broader Controllers team amidst changing priorities
Skills/Experience: *Experience of working in a technical accounting role
*Ability to partner effectively with partners across the organization
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Ability to persuade and influence at all levels
*Proven ability to identify proactively and problem solve using own initiative
*Highly numerate
*Ability to work without close supervision, organize, manage and prioritise work
*Ability to work under pressure and to deliver to tight internal and external deadlines
*ACA (or regional equivalent) Qualified Accountant with considerable experience in a finance role - preferably within financial services
