Credit Controller

We are seeking a temporary Credit Controller to join our finance team at our Head Office in Maldon, Essex. This position is set to start from May 2026 for a period of 13 months. As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of the sales ledger and maintaining strong, professional relationships with our customers.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Chasing outstanding debt.
*Reconciliation and management of a designated section of sundry and unallocated cash.
*Resolving account queries promptly and accurately.
*Supporting the day-to-day running of the sales ledger function.
*Ensuring records are kept up to date and in line with company procedures.
*Producing weekly/monthly sales & debtors’ analysis.
*Producing direct debit collections.
*Handling general ad-hoc administrative duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience working within a high-volume sales ledger or credit control environment.
*Confidence in obtaining payment while maintaining strong customer relationships.
*Calm, professional approach to handling potentially sensitive or challenging conversations.
*Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
*Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and priorities.
*Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
*Strong communication skills, able to liaise at all levels within the business.
*Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
*Professional and well-presented manner.
