Shifts: Shifts including nights
Training: 2 months at CAF Chester (fully expensed)
The Opportunity
Ford & Stanley are working in partnership with CAF to recruit multiple Technicians for their depot in Machynlleth.

The Role
As a Technician, you will play a key role in the maintenance, overhaul and reliability of CAF’s fleet. You will work as part of an established engineering team carrying out inspections, fault-finding, repairs and maintenance.
Responsibilities include:
*Performing maintenance, servicing and fault-finding on rolling stock systems
*Mechanical or electrical overhaul of key components
*Working to technical drawings, schematics and maintenance procedures
*Diagnosing faults using tools, test equipment and onboard systems
*Supporting safe and efficient depot operations
*Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with safety standards
About You
We are seeking skilled, safety-focused Technicians with a background in heavy engineering. Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Mechanical backgrounds such as:
*Diesel engines (marine, bus, HGV, generators)
*Hydraulics, pneumatics, or heavy mechanical systems
Electrical backgrounds such as:
*Automotive electrical systems
*HVAC, PLCs, control circuits, or industrial electrics
*Diagnostics and testing experience
Additionally, you will bring:
*A recognised level 3 engineering qualification or above (eg. NVQ, apprenticeship, HNC – desirable)
*Ability to work nights
*A strong safety mindset and experience working in high-risk environments
Training
Your first two months will be spent at CAF’s state-of-the-art facility in Chester, with all travel and accommodation fully expensed.
