Senior Machine Operator Night ShiftLocation: Rochester
Salary: £16 to £17 per hour
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 6am
A well established and growing food manufacturing business in Rochester is looking to add a Senior Machine Operator to its night shift team.
This is a hands on role for someone with solid machine operating experience who can take real ownership of equipment, keep production running smoothly and support the wider team across shift. It would suit someone who is already operating at a higher level in production and is confident with set ups, adjustments, problem solving and maintaining standards in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
You will be joining a business that continues to invest in its people, processes and machinery, with genuine long term opportunities for progression into roles such as Line Leader or Supervisor.
What You’ll Be Doing*Setting up, running and monitoring production machinery across the night shift

*Making basic mechanical adjustments to keep lines running efficiently and reduce downtime

*Acting as a key point of contact on shift for machine related issues and first line fault finding

*Supporting production output while maintaining quality, food safety and GMP standards at all times

*Completing production paperwork, shift records and basic reporting accurately

*Assisting with changeovers, start ups and shut downs where required

*Supporting and guiding other operatives on shift to help maintain flow and standards

*Keeping machinery and production areas clean, organised and audit ready

What They’re Looking For*Previous machine operating experience within food manufacturing, production or a similar fast paced environment

*Confident carrying out machine set ups, adjustments and basic fault finding

*Able to work with a good level of independence and take ownership during the night shift

*Strong awareness of quality, hygiene and food safety standards

*Good attention to detail and accurate approach to paperwork and production records

*Reliable, switched on and comfortable supporting others on shift

*A positive attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure
