Management Accountant
Cambridge (hybrid)
£50,000-£55,000 per annum
We are working with a leading not for profit organisation who are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join their Finance team and play a key role in supporting project delivery, organisational budgeting, and financial governance.
The Opportunity
As Management Accountant, you will be a crucial business partner to project managers and senior leaders, providing expert financial insight, robust budget management, and high-quality reporting. You will take the lead in developing and monitoring the organisation-wide annual budget, ensuring effective financial oversight, and strengthening processes across the Finance function.

Key Responsibilities
*Support Project Managers in developing, managing and monitoring complex project budgets
*Lead on preparation of the Centre’s annual budget
*Produce timely, accurate management accounts for the Senior Management Team and Board
*Ensure accurate and timely financial data entry into the Oracle NetSuite ERP system
*Review and approve project expenditure reports, working with major funders as required
*Support and mentor two Project Accountants
*Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and controls
*Undertake any additional duties commensurate with the role as directed by the CFO
About You
You will be an experienced finance professional with a strong track record in budgeting, financial analysis, and supporting organisation-wide decision-making. You will combine technical expertise with excellent communication skills, enabling you to work confidently with non-finance colleagues and senior leaders alike.
You will be naturally proactive, with a commitment to improving processes and delivering high-quality financial insight. You will also be an effective people supervisor, able to coach, develop and motivate others.
Qualifications & Experience
*GCSEs or equivalent (including English & Maths)
*CCAB part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
*Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
*Confident business partnering with non-finance teams
*Experience producing, monitoring and reviewing project budgets
*Experience preparing audit working papers and reconciliations
*Competent user of financial ERP systems
*Proven ability to improve processes proactively
*Excellent communication and presentation skills
*Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities

*Excellent written and spoken communication skills
*Ability to present complex financial information clearly
*Highly organised with strong time-management
*Detail-oriented with strong relationship-building skills
*Confident working across the business and with senior leaders
