Job Description:
We’re looking for a high-impact Head of Automation to lead a Motors & Automation function, delivering world-class technical solutions across the Entertainment sector. This is a rare opportunity to combine leadership, engineering expertise, and innovation in an environment where no two days are the same.
You’ll take full ownership of a critical department, driving performance, safety, innovation, and sustainability. Leading a skilled team of technicians and engineers, you’ll ensure the highest standards in equipment delivery and technical services for major events.
Whether your background is in events or another technical environment, what matters is your ability to apply your expertise, lead from the front, and deliver excellence at scale.
Duties:*Drive efficient planning and resource management across all projects
*Champion high-quality standards in equipment and technical service delivery
*Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing technical team
*Embed a safety-first culture, with strong oversight of LOLER and H&S compliance
*Develop and implement risk assessments and safety protocols
*Manage budgets and inventory
Skills:*Proven experience in a leadership/ management
*Strong technical knowledge of motors, automation systems and rigging
*Deep understanding of health & safety legislation (LOLER essential)
*A natural leader with the ability to motivate and develop diverse teams
*Excellent communication and organisational skills
*A continuous improvement mindset with a drive to innovate
*Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
*Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
*Project management or lean process experience (desirable)
*Microsoft 365 proficiency
