Greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a hands-on Finance Manager is required to lead the day-to-day running of the finance function within a growing SME. This role will focus on financial control, managing a small team, and delivering accurate and timely reporting.
Duties of the role will include:
*Oversee daily finance operations (AP, AR, payroll, cash management)

*Own the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations

*Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules

*Maintain strong financial controls and balance sheet integrity

*Manage cash flow and short-term forecasting

*Lead, mentor, and review the work of a small finance team

*Ensure compliance with VAT, statutory reporting, and audit requirements

*Liaise with external auditors and advisors

*Identify and implement process improvements

Skills, Requirements, Qualifications
*Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)

*Proven experience in a hands-on SME finance role

*Experience in commodities or stock-driven environments preferred

*Strong month-end and financial control experience

*Prior team management or supervisory experience

*Good Excel and systems skills

*Hands-on, organised, and detail-focused

*Strong sense of ownership and accountability

*Able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment

*Practical and solutions-oriented
